Laurène Boglio
Laurène is a French illustrator and award-winning Art Director who lives and works in Easthampton, Massachusetts and Brooklyn, New York. Characterised by black-and-white forms with the occasional splash of colour, Boglio’s visual storytelling is at once playful and dark; absurd and profound. First recognised for her quirky GIF animations, she now experiments across genres, including editorial illustration, animated shorts, portraiture, and typography.
Before postsecondary education, Boglio was classically trained for four years by Michel Breban in her hometown of Annecy. She went on to study in Paris and the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg, where she discovered the sweet spot between graphic design and illustration—a hybridity that she continues to explore in her personal and commercial portfolios.
For many years now, Laurène has led the creative team of Little White Lies, a print magazine celebrating films and filmmakers, published in London, her home of seven years. While she continues to chronicle daily life through GIFs, she looks forward to venturing into the unknown, pursuing new artistic forms along the way.
